When I think of you

      When I think of you
     I feel fragrance
When I think of our conversations
     I feel alive
     My days smile
     And my nights sparkle

     Last night
     When I crashed into
     My stupid, empty bed
I took off all your inhibitions
     From the realm of surrealism
     And I surrendered my soul
     To your soul!

Precious Flowers

'Precious Flowers' is one of my first poems to be published in WordWine - the Anthology of Contemporary Poetry of Delhi Poetree. I have written this from an incident that took place in Delhi. I was once driving towards Rajouri Garden in my car with my family when I met this young girl selling flowers at the traffic signal nearby to the Rajouri Metro Station. She was unkempt and in torn clothes as so many other girls of her age are from poor families. Instead of playing with toys and dolls she like so many other girls from the poorest families of Delhi have to sell flowers, toys or other sundry items to the people stopping by in their cars and bikes at these traffic signals. They have to do this work even in the hot scorching summer of Delhi to support their families. But the thing which stood out in this girl was the pride with which she went about selling the flowers. There was an honesty in her eyes. And her integrity shone in all radiance. So I had to buy them flowers, the most precious that money could ever buy!

Silences

Break my heart a thousand times...

A Portrayal Of Passionate Love When Unrequited.

It is a story about love. Passionate love. And when passionate love gets unrequited then Ae Dil hai Mushkil happens. I watched the movie "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" last evening at the Q's Cinemas at Durbar Marg in Kathmandu. Watching this movie made me smile, laugh and cry in different sequences. The story is about the beautiful journey of its three main protagonists Ayan, Alizeh and Saba. From the beginning of the movie one cannot help but get totally drawn into 'Ayan' played by Ranbir Kapoor and 'Alizeh' played by Anushka Sharma. The honesty with which Ranbir and Anushka perform their respective roles comes across and captivates you in almost every scene of theirs.

Heart touching performances from both of them along with a terrific performance from Aiswarya as the elegant and charming poetess 'Saba' played with a lot of style and elan will make you stay glued to the happenings on the screen. Fawad as 'Ali' is convincing although he does not have too many scenes in this movie. "Ae Dil hai Mushkil"  has to be Karan Johar's most mature and grown-up movie yet that is sure to touch your heart along with your brain. Though, a few sequences toward the end could have been better thought-out and made. But on the whole, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a work of Art and will be cherished by the poets, writers, artists and all the creative people.

Well I would not reveal anything more as I do not want to spoil the fun for each one of you reading my piece who go on to watch this movie.

The title track of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil is a well composed number melodiously sung by Arijit Singh. The captivating lyrics penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya will instantly touch your heart. This song will remain in your play-list for a long time to come.

Music director Pritam has done an impeccable job in the movie. After serenading the audience with the magical numbers he goes on to up the energy with this track called Bulleya. Amit Mishra’s powerful vocals create magic and add soul to this song.

And then the haunting track Channa Mereya will transport you to another level altogether. The feeling of a heartbreak is amazingly done in this haunting number penned with so much of  sensitivity and tenderness by Amitabh Bhatacharya. Amalgamate it with Arijit Singh’s magical voice and it becomes the perfect soul stirring number. This song will surely make you cry!

Ae Dil Hai Mushkil will go on to be remembered for the years to come not just for the beautiful performances but also for the beautiful songs!
